Little known facts

  • Scott Maslen was born in 1971 in East London but was raised in Woolwich.
  • Scott recently found out that like his grandfather, his ancestors had worked at Woolwich docks.
  • His grandfather William Suckling informs us that his great grandfather worked in a stables in Hendon.
  • Scott's Auntie Pauline, still lives in the area and has fond memories of her nephew.
  • The Suckling family also ran two successful forges in the 1940's

There are some who remember the old days very well.
Here's an email we received from a friend of Scott's father:

Hi Scott
It was nice to see you on GMTV this morning
I am an old friend of your dad's from the 60's
I am not surprised you made it into show biz
as your dad was a very talented singer and
comedian in those days and I have often seen
him enrapture a whole pub or holiday venue
with his performances. In fact, I was for a
little while part of a double act, strictly amateur
of course , with him for a while. It was nice
to see him in the photo and he still looks
great.
Give Johnny my regards

'Rolo' Evans

**Many thanks to GMTV for this great Family tree feature

On a special family tree feature for GMTV Scott traced his family's heritage.

Scott's Auntie Pauline shared her fond memories with her nephew -
he found out that like his grandfather, his ancestors had worked at
Woolwich docks.

His grandfather William Suckling told Scott stories about his mother's side of the family and how his great grandfather worked in a stables in Hendon

...aaah when we was young..
